Only around 539 mover companies currently belong, including Transworld International Removal. The entry criteria are very strict, and only the best-quality moving companies are accepted. FIDI checks 453 individual areas of quality and financial security, following rigorous audits established by Ernst & Young.

New Zealand Overseas Movers Association (NZOMA) - New Zealand’s regulatory body for international removal companies, NZOMA imposes strict quality standards on movers applying for membership. Only a handful of companies are successful.

This distinction ensures a move that’s hassle-free and professional at all times.

British Association of Removers (BAR) - The UK-governing removal body has represented removal companies for over 100 years. The BAR requires all members to meet strict quality standards.

Options for Shipping To New Zealand From the US

Here at Transworld, we understand that every move and every shipping circumstances are different. We offer options to suit a variety of circumstances, budgets, and schedules.

Otherwise known as a shared container, our groupage service is very economical. The groupage option is ideal for small or partial households, or if you only have one or two boxes to ship.

Sharing a container with other clients also moving to New Zealand means you only pay for space your belongings occupy. As you’re not paying for the entire container, groupage proves to be very economical for long distances, like when shipping to New Zealand from the United States.

However, this service may take a little longer than others. Your allocated container must be full before shipping can commence. But due to its cost-effective nature, groupage is a popular choice.

Full Container Load (FCL)

If moving a large household or requiring faster moving time, our FCL service is a great option. Our international partners offer regular international shipping services of FCL containers to all New Zealand ports.

While dependent upon individual circumstances, containers can usually be loaded directly from your home. Once sealed, the containers are transported directly to the appropriate port for shipping on the first available vessel. Your container’s seal will remain unbroken throughout the entire shipping process.

Upon arrival, your container is securely uplifted and transported to our warehouse. The contents will be unloaded and checked against the inventory.

Provided the entire customs process doesn’t encounter issues, your goods are then delivered to your new address. We offer full unwrapping and unpacking of your belongings, with all packing debris removed. Alternatively, we can arrange storage at one of our secure facilities until everything is delivered.

Less Than Container Load (LCL)

Offering the same speed as FCL, LCL is suitable for smaller shipments. This still option still uses your own personal container but applies when the container hasn’t been filled. As a result, LCL services can be quite expensive.

Air freight

The fastest of all options, air freight is ideal for transporting urgent items while awaiting your sea shipment. Due to the speed available, air freight shipping is typically very expensive and most appropriate for small shipments.

Shipping Vehicles

New Zealand is one of only a handful of countries with no Customs Duty. Any relevant goods and service tax (GST) payments are only payable to New Zealand customs. As a result, shipping your car or motorbike to New Zealand is relatively economical.

We can advise on all requirements necessary to import your chosen vehicle without GST. Or with reduced GST, if necessary. Multiple factors must comply with New Zealand’s transport laws, but Transworld helps every step of the way.

Shipping Firearms

As expected, firearms laws in New Zealand are very different from those in the US. If you want to ship firearms or weapons, staying up to date with all relevant laws is essential. Transworld can help make sure you’re always receiving the most current information.
