Shipping your personal belongings: your options

When relocating to South Africa, you have a few shipping options to choose from. Ask yourself the following questions to make sure you’re getting the best service for you and your family.

  1. How much do you want to ship?
  2. What’s your budget?
  3. How fast do you want your goods to arrive?

FCL: For moving an entire household

Our FCL (Full Container Load) option is best for those moving to South Africa with a whole household’s worth of belongings. You get a whole container for you and your family’s items, which means you don’t have to wait for anybody else’s freight.

This makes our FCL option a fast and efficient way of shipping your possessions. Once it has been loaded and checked, it will get on its way to wherever you will be living in South Africa.

Transworld ships to everywhere in South Africa, so you’ll get door to door service, wherever you’re headed.

Key benefits:

  1. Bigger capacity: you can fit your whole household into one of our containers.
  2. Speedy shipping: with only your items to get loaded and checked, FCL is the fastest way to transport goods. Once they’re loaded, they can get on their way to South Africa.
  3. Shipping to any location: we ship to anywhere to South Africa.

Groupage: for when you can share the load

Groupage Shipping to South AfricaOur groupage option is suitable for those relocating to South Africa with less possessions. It’s our most affordable option, as it allows you to share a container load with other people also moving to South Africa.

This service takes longer than our other options because shipping is delayed until the container is full.

Key benefits:

  1. Cost effective: Our Groupage option is the most economical choice when moving to South Africa, as you’re sharing the load with others.
  2. Space efficiency: Only pay for the amount of space you use.
  3. We ship to everywhere in South Africa: Door-to-door service, wherever you’re going to live in South Africa.

Air Freight: when you need urgent shipping

For those who need to ship a few belongings urgently as part of their move to South Africa, our Air Freight option is the best. As our most expensive shipping method, it’s great for those last-minute personal items you just can’t do without.

Key benefits:

  1. Speed: This is the fasted way to get your belongings to South Africa.
  2. Good for emergency items: the best way to get those last few things you can’t do without.
  3. We ship to all locations: We’ll get your things delivered to your door, wherever you are planning to live in South Africa.

How long will shipping take?

  1. FCL: Once your container is packed and shipped, your belongings will take approximately 8-9 weeks to arrive in South Africa.
  2. Groupage: Our groupage option will see your items take around 12-16 weeks to arrive in South Africa.
